I have been trying unsucessfully to correct my mortgage problem with hsbc for the past 2 years, I have called them every month at least 3 times. They are saying we are behind when we aren't. Ever since they bought our mortgage from equifirst it has been nothing but problems we pay more they say we are out of delinquency then next month they say we are 3 months behind. They told us we restructured our loan, we never did, they told us we have an adjustable rate, we don't. I have filed a report with the attorney general. They have destroyed our credit. every person tells us a new $$$ even on the same day. we received 14 collection calls a day from 8 am-9:15 pm it never stops. I have several complaints about HSBC also. I have been dealing with them for almost a year and fing myself tied into a awful ARM that they can not even seem to work me out of. They have been very difficult to deal with and can not match any current interest rates, but unfortunately, they have the dang prepayment penalty to lock you into a cost factor war.
Found it is cheaper to wait out a year of very high building interest rates. Mine is up to over 10% now, but still better than setteling for thier compromised 7.3% fixed. How many times do they want to screw me out of money. I will be leaving this mortgage as soon as possible with the unfortunate losses that I seem to have incured during the process of trying to eliminate debt. IRONY HAS IT'S MAKER........ HSBC.
